Usana Health Sciences, Inc. is a multi-level marketing company based in Utah and engaged in the production of different nutritional products and dietary supplements. Usana products, majority of which are produced at the company’s facility in West Valley City, are available in more than 20 countries through a network of “associates” or independent distributors. Usana brands itself as a maker of personalized health products that enable consumers to reflect on the choices they make in their lives, and how their daily actions impact the quality of their lives as a whole.

An immunologist and microbiologist by the name of Myron Wentz founded Usana. The products of the company can be purchased by direct order or from distributors, and not through retail channels.

There are three major product lines under Usana, including Nutritionals (nutrition essentials), Usana Diet & Energy (weight control), and Sens? personal care (skin and beauty). Ninety-percent of Usana products are manufactured in-house.

In 2011, Usana Essentials was tested by ConsumerLab.com, which reviewed 38 leading multivitamin/multimineral products in sold in America and Canada.

Various factors were considered in the test, which Usana passed, including compliance with U.S. Pharmacopeia guidelines on solubility, lead contamination threshold based on California Proposition 65 , U.S. Food and Drug Administration labeling guidelines, and certain index elements.

Products of Usana are mostly sold via distributors or “associates” as well as online.
